History and development of the Internet in the world

Sistem jaringan komputer

The development that is currently experiencing the internet world is very rapid. How not, which was only enjoyed by certain people only and its function is limited, now everyone can use it without exception with access to information that is much wider and more diverse functions. It is certainly ditennggarai by the great discoveries that exist on the internet itself. Perhaps only rural communities in Indonesia alone that has no internet access, because the Internet network development in Indonesia is uneven.

We as internet users in modern times will certainly be very useful when studying about the history of the establishment of the internet, as a sign of our gratitude because the internet today is able to change the civilization of the world. Because we think maybe a lot of people who are very dependent on the internet in their daily lives, ranging from the use of social media as entertainment or business, reading interesting articles on the website, to chat with friends nearby. Let's look at its history in more detail through the explanation of Espilen Blog below.

History of the Internet
History began on August 1962 and the creation of the internet was first proposed by someone named J.C.R Licklider of the MIT Massachutts Institute of Technology. The initial concept was called "Galactic Network" by him. He tells about how a global network that allows people to access data and programs from anywhere. In October 1962 he headed a computer research program at ARPA that was part of the US Department of Defense.

The ARPANET project is designing a network form, reliability, and how much information can be moved, which eventually all the standards they define become the forerunner to the new protocol development that we now know with the term TCP / IP (Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol).

The initial history of the project was for military purposes. At that time the US Department of Defense created a scattered computer network system by connecting computers in vital areas to solve problems in the event of a nuclear attack and to avoid the occurrence of centralized information, which in the event of war can be easily destroyed.

In 1966 Larry Roberts developed the concept of computer networks. Then he planned a network called the ARPANET published in 1967. In 1969 the ARPANET had involved four connected computers.

The history of the internet also began with the first computer at the university of California Los Angelos, the second computer was at Stanford Research Institute, the third computer was at the University of California Barbara and the computer was at University of Utah. In 1971 the number of computers connected to the ARPANET reached 14 units. In this year the Telnet and FTP protocols were built. In 1972 Larry Roberts and Bob Kahn introduced the ARPANET at the ICCC conference held in Washignton.

History In 1972 the history of the development of the internet explains Ray Tomliinson wrote a program that allows electronic mail to be sent to the ARPNET network. He designed the conversion "user @ host." In this year also ARPANET using NCP to transfer data. In the same year ARPA renamed DARPA. Additional letter D comes from the word Defense. This year ARPANET made its first international connection with University College of London and Royal Establishment in Norway.

History in 1978 The Unix to Copy Protocol is found in Bell Lab. This program is useful for doing file transfer. In 1979 a news group named USENET operated on the basis of UUCP. Its creators are Tom Truscott and Jim Ellis (both students at Duke University) and Steven Bellovin (from the University of North Carolina).

Users from all over the world join this discussion group talking about network, politics, religion and other topics. The history of the internet, in 1982 the DCA or Defense Communication Agency and DARPA formed a protocol called TCP / IP for the ARPANET. Furthermore, the US Department of Defense declared TCP / IP as a sntadar. That's when the internet is defined as a set of connected networks that use TCP / IP as a protocol.

The history of the internet in 1983 was John Postel and Paul Mockapetris and Craig Partidge developed the Domain Name System (DNS) and launched a system of observations in the form of user@host.cdomain. In 1984 DNS was introduced on the internet by mentioning the names of such domain types. gov, .mil, .org, .net and .com.

In 1986 TCP / IP began to be available on workstaiton and PC. This year also the National Science Foundation funded the NSFNET as a 56 kbps internet backbone and regulated the internet for non-commercial research and government purposes.

List of Essential Events in Internet History and Its Progress

1957
The Soviet Union (now Russia) launched the spacecraft, Sputnik.

1958
In the aftermath of the "defeat" of the United States in launching the spacecraft, a body was created within the US Department of Defense, Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA), which aims to enable the United States to improve the country's science and technology. One of the targets is computer technology.

1962
Internet history this year is a J.C.R. Licklider wrote a paper on a vision in which computers can be interconnected with each other globally so that each computer is able to offer access to programs and data. In this year also RAND Corporation began research on this idea (distributed computer network), which is intended for military purposes.

1960
Theories about packet-switching can be implemented in the real world.

1965
The term "Hypertext" was issued by Ted Nelson.

1968
Tymnet Network created.

1971
The ARPANET network members grew to 23 computer nodes, comprised of computers for US government and university research.

1972
A working group called the International Network Working Group (INWG) was created to improve computer network technology and also set standards for computer networks, including the Internet. The first speaker of this organization was Vint Cerf, later called "The Father of the Internet".

1972-1974
Some commercial database services such as Dialog, SDC Orbit, Lexis, The New York Times DataBank, and others, register themselves to the ARPANET via dial-up networking.

1973
ARPANET out of the United States: this year, ARPANET members are increasing again with the inclusion of several universities outside the United States ie University College of London from the UK and Royal Radar Establishment in Norway.

1974
Vint Cerf and Bob Kahn publish detailed specifications of the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) protocol in the article "A Protocol for Packet Network Interconnection".

1974
Bolt, Beranet & Newman (BBN), contractors for ARPANET, opened a commercial version of
The ARPANET they call Telenet, which is the first public data service package.

1977
There are already 111 computers that have been connected to the ARPANET.

1978
The TCP protocol is broken down into two parts, namely Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol (TCP / IP).

1979
The first Usenet discussion group was created by Tom Truscott, Jim Ellis and Steve Bellovin, alumni from Duke University and the University of North Carolina USA. After that, the use of Usenet also increased drastically. Interestingly, this year's emoticons are also proposed by Kevin McKenzie.

Early 1980s
Personal computer (PC) epidemic, and become part of many human life. This year recorded ARPANET already has members up to 213 connected hosts. The BITNET Service (It It Time Time Network) begins, by providing e-mail, mailing list, and also File Transfer Protocol (FTP) services.
CSNET (Computer Science Network) was built this year by scientists and experts in the field of computer science from various universities.

1982
The term "Internet" was first used, and TCP / IP was adopted as the universal protocol for the network.

1986
Introduced domain name system, now known as DNS (Domain Name System) that serves to uniform naming system of addresses in computer networks.

2000s
The Internet is growing so rapidly, it can be proven by the emergence of billions of sites in the world. And digital business has become a trend in the development thanks to the internet.
